Inspiration - Tilleke Schwartz

Count Your Blessings
Tilleke Schwartz

I suspect many of you know the work of Tilleke Schwartz.  Tilleke combines mixed media with stitching to make inventive works that tell stories.  This is part of the bio information on her website:

"My work is a mixture of graphic quality, content and fooling around. The humor in my work is typical for my Jewish background: a mixture of a laugh and a tear. Folk art and daily life are great sources for inspiration. I use mixed media with a focus on hand embroidery on linen and on drawings and paintings."

I noticed this week that she will be teaching two courses at Shakerag Workshops in Tennesse in 2015.  You can go to their website to read more about this:http://www.shakerag.org/

  1. omg. I met her in London. I wanted to attend Haystack this year to take her class. But now...hmmm Shakerag might be calling my name.
